 Arts Events

This is where Jo fell in love with event management, through the production of large scale local theatre productions. Encompassing visual or performing arts, Jo delivers them all with experience, understanding and sensitivity to all genres. Jo is the Artistic Director of Bunbury Fringe and works closely with respected organisations such as Six Two Three Zero to deliver Street Art Projects.

 Community Engagement

Working alongside organisations, Storybox and Maker + Co, seeking innovative and effective ways to successfully engage with the community. Through their shared knowledge, numerous contacts, and broad understanding of the respective communities, they develop and implement strategies to gain data relevant to wants and needs.

 Corporate Events

Jo can add an artistic element to corporate events and conferences. Her vast database of reliable suppliers and services ensures tailoring events to client, from small meetings to 3 day conferences. Jo and her team have also worked on a number of community days and staff functions for clients such as the Southern Ports Authority, South West Development Commission, Talison Lithium and the Shire of Collie. This includes open days for over 2000 people and staff functions for up to 800

 Cultural Events

Events that celebrate inclusion, community and culture are a key part of Jo’s Arts Events portfolio. Jo is Festival Director for the South West Multicultural Festival, and Artistic Director of Bunbury Fringe, which received a Federal Grant from the RISE fund, for the 2022 event.  Her focus is on celebrating community while also considering the important economic and social impact of events to the region.  Through this she has strong ties with many within the local government, business and tourism sectors.

 Sports Events

Jo first developed a feasibility study for an inaugural, national sporting event for Bunbury Geographe. Following 12 months of research, she was contracted to deliver the Bunbury Geographe Gift, a sprint race carnival modelled on the iconic Stawell Gift, and targeting national and international athletes. Through Jo’s management, the Gift was recognised as an essential meet on the national sprint calendar, with significant support from the WA State Government, perceiving it as an event with international status.

 Event and Project Funding

Without exception, all projects under the management of Jo O’Dea, are dependent on corporate sponsorship and/or Grants. Due to this she has a clear knowledge of the essential marrying of particular events with relevant funding bodies, such as Healthway, Tourism WA, Lotterywest and South West Development Commission. Budgets of all sizes need to be sourced, with the majority achieved through the application of funds, with Jo having an extremely high success rate because she understands the funding bodies objectives, and where/if they fit with each project.

Catered Special Occasions

From long-table lunches, to one of a kind weddings Jo partners with some of the South-West and Bunbury’s best restaurants, and food and wine producers to create one-of-a-kind events. Guests can enjoy multiple food courses matched to award winning local wines - always in a special location.

I have worked with Jo for the past three years across a variety of projects, including Bunbury Fringe Festival, CinefestOZ Film Festival, and The Geographe Wine Show. She swiftly became one of my favourite people in the events industry, with an impeccable eye for detail, a skill for multi-tasking that many of us only dream of, and a warm friendly disposition that draws people to her. She is passionate about what she does and goes above and beyond to see dreams turn into reality. There is no one in the events industry quite like Jo and I cannot recommend her highly enough.
